Owned since 1996, this 41-acre parcel is managed by Jim and Donna Davis for multiple goals, including carbon, orchard income, and an array of wildlife habitat. Learn about how the property owners have utilized cost-sharing programs, conservation easements, and the American Tree Farm System to help achieve their ownership goals.

A resident's guide for taking action for ensuring a sustainable, resilient environment.
Featuring speaker Mikaela Boley, Horticulture Educator for University of Maryland Extension, we will cover best practices for managing the landscape in Talbot County. Using the Maryland Living Landscapes Metric as a guiding tool, focusing on sustainable habits and practices that you can use in your back yard. A panel of Master Gardener Experts will be available to answer questions and provide resources. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign up for a FREE "Bay-Wise" property consultation with knowledgeable volunteers.

Discover the beauty and ecology of moss on this guided Master Gardener hike at Irvine Nature Center. We’ll explore the wooded trails, learn about moss identification, and discuss how these small plants contribute to the health of forests and gardens. Please be prepared for the weather and to hike outdoors in uneven terrain.
