Biography

Biography: 

Jonathan Gemmell is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Landscape Architecture in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture.  His focus is in bringing his experience as a practicing Landscape Architect into the classroom, using professional projects as practical examples of site design. Landscape Design can be a diverse field, by exposing students to a variety of project types and processes the studio format can guide students to develop their own interests and capacity for critical thought as can be applied to innovative approaches to landscape design.  As a returning UMD graduate Jonathan also has a unique perspective that will help guide students through their time in the department.
