I am a dedicated member of the Extension Education team serving Washington County, Maryland. As a native of the area, I have deep community roots, having participated in 4-H and graduated from Williamsport High School. My passion for agriculture has driven a career focused on enhancing agricultural practices and education in the region.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from West Virginia University and a Master's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut, specializing in the Physiology of Reproduction. This education has equipped me with the expertise to support agricultural initiatives in Washington County.
My career with the University of Maryland Extension began as a 4-H Agent in Baltimore County in 1988. In 1992, I transferred to Harford County, continuing as a 4-H Agent. Since 1996, I've served in Washington County, collaborating with faculty and staff to deliver educational programs to the community.
My teaching goals focus on strengthening agricultural profitability and increasing literacy among residents. My research at the Western Maryland Research & Education Center includes a multi-species grazing project and studies on forage production methods. These efforts reflect my commitment to supporting farmers while maintaining soil, plant, and animal resources, fostering sustainability and growth in the region.
