Policy initiatives in our schools, work places, and communities shape the
contexts in which families live and, thus, shape human development as
surely as our other professional endeavors. This web site is intended as a
resource for educators, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers
interested in family policy. Resources include briefing reports, technical
reports, newsletters, fact sheets, and links to other policy Web sites from
community, state, national, and international perspectives. These
resources address topics such as adolescent substance use, teenage
pregnancy, welfare reform, child support, and the government's role in
promoting competent parenting. Also identified are ways professionals can
influence policy development such as advocacy, public issues education, and
policy/program evaluation.
