Fair Book Revisions:
If it’s time to revise/update/add to your County/City Fair programs – it’s probably time to check out the State Fair 4-H Classes. The more consistent we are with classes from county to state and vice versa, the easier it is for our youth to exhibit their completed project work. We’ve had our State Fair Evaluation Meeting and had the opportunity to make some revisions for next summer. If you have any suggestions regarding the 4-H Entries/Classes for the Maryland State Fair, send your ideas to Sandy (corridon@umd.edu) or Chris (canders2@umd.edu) or Linda Garner (terp23@umd.edu) prior to December 1st.
Maryland 4-H Volunteer/Teen Forum
If you are attending the 2009 Forum, please feel free to contact Sandy Corridon or any members of the Human Science Program Committee (Kathy Gordon co-chair, Lacie Ashby, Elaine Bailey, Charlene Jordon-Baker, Mike Kuster and Shante Stokes). We’d be interested in your input and ideas regarding our Maryland 4-H Human Science Programs.
MGPUB Grants
The Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board offers grant money from grain check off dollars to promote grains and grain research. Many counties have utilized these funds for “Grain Days” programs. The deadline is December 1st. If you have plans to conduct Farm to Table, Whole Grain Nutrition Programs, 4-H Visual Presentations, After School or 4-H Club Programs – focusing on grains, even utilization of grains by livestock – check out the RFP. Contact Sandy (corridon@umd.edu) if you need more information.
Custom Camping!
Would you be interested in a “Kids Kookin’ Kamp” a “Step, Stomp, Dance Camp”? The Human Science Program Committee is considering some themed camping. If you like the idea and would like to join the team, contact Sandy (corridon@umd.edu)
