posted: Oct 30, 2009

The Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) recognized the University of Maryland Extension's "Grow It, Eat It" program in the October issue of their newsletter, Innovations.

The article discusses the Home & Garden Information Center's program to help people in Maryland learn to grow their own healthy and inexpensive fruits, vegetables and herbs. There is a link to the Grow It, Eat It website and to the Grow It, Eat It blog.

APLU (formerly the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges or NASULGC) is a national organization with member campuses in all 50 states and the U.S. Territories. They advocate nationally on behalf of land-grant institutions, and their newsletter is sent to members of Congress and their staffers.

The full issue of Innovations is available to read online; the article, titled "'Farm to Fork initiative' & 'Grow It, Eat It' Campaign" is the second headlined article in the issue.
