Josue Lopez’s Bio

Josue was born in Puerto Rico where he studied a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and worked for couple of years in the Agricultural Extension Service. He moved to Boston in the late 80s and became a science teacher. Josue taught bilingual science to Latino students in the Boston area for 12 years.
Josue decided to get back into the agricultural sciences and obtained a Master’s degree in Agricultural Education from the Ohio State University in 1997. In 2001, Josue obtained a Ph D in Agricultural and Extension Education from The Pennsylvania State University. He always wanted to get back to Cooperative Extension and since November 2005 he is the Urban Agriculture Educator in Baltimore City and County Extension offices. He also coordinates the Baltimore City’s Master Gardeners program. Josue is married to Dawn Marie Lopez and live in the Catonsville area.
