Welcome to the Baltimore City Master Gardeners Homepage

 Baltimore City Master Gardeners are trained volunteers of the University of Maryland Extension, who are dedicated to helping the citizens of Baltimore City, Maryland.

Our mission is to educate Baltimore City residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities.

Baltimore City Master Gardeners offer free services to the public including:

* Public speakers to talk on almost any gardening subject     CLICK HERE for speaker brochure
* Master Gardeners available to answer questions at special events including Mt. Vernon Flower Mart, Maryland Home and Garden Show, Cylburn Market Day, Leakin Park Herb Festival and Maryland State Fair
* Plant clinics to diagnose plant problems and offer advice at the JFX and Waverly farmers markets
* Bay-Wise personal consultations and group presentations regarding safe landscaping practices to reduce harm to the Baltimore Harbor, Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries
* Youth education about gardening at public schools
* Consultations and support for community gardens
* Planting and maintenance of public demonstration gardens at City Hall and Cylburn Arboretum
* Grow It Eat It classes
* Support of Parks and People, Community Greening Resource Network (CGRN), Great Kids Farm, Lake Clifton Hoop Houses, Herring Run Watershed Association, Cylburn Arboretum Association and Howard Peter Rawlings Conservatory
* Support of University of Maryland Extension Baltimore City 4H Youth Development Program and Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)  CLICK link on left.
