Youth Gardening

Gardening isn't just for adults!  According to the National Gardening Association, "it boosts kids' interest in school and learning, improves their attitudes about eating healthful foods and caring for the environment, helps them develop social skills and self-esteem, and gives them a feeling of community spirit."

The following resources are provided to develop youth gardens at schools or on private property:

Growing Healthy Habits (GHH) is a gardening and nutrition education curriculum that provides easy-to adopt lessons using growing food as the teaching vehicle to link nutrition and gardening concepts in both in-school and out-of-school youth educational settings.
