Welcome to the University of Maryland Extension Healthy Homes Website

The purpose of UMEHH site is to provide information to help serve Maryland’s families who face hazards in the built environment including: toxic materials (lead, asbestos, pesticide and household products); dangerous gases (carbon monoxide and radon); hazards that cause and contribute to asthma (dust allergens, molds, and pests); and other safety and health concerns.

This website provides educational resources, curricula, and important public information related to Healthy Homes; is an outlet for Extension and UMCP-related research & evaluation findings; provides internal communication about training, conferences, grants, and publication opportunities; organizes curricula and resource materials; and allows for input (i.e., needs assessment, user questionnaires, feedback).

The UMEHH website invites innovation and creativity among UME educators, specialists, UMCP faculty, and advisors/stakeholders. Take a look and provide us with feedback to make the website most useful for all of us.
