4-H EVENT
The PLC established the following document which was revised in the November 1995 meeting. This is to assure our clientele that all 4-H events advertised would adhere to standards set forth in policies adopted by the Maryland 4-H Youth Development Program.
LEVELS OF INVOLVEMENT
A) Club - Club events must be sponsored by a chartered or recognized 4-H club or group with events approved by the MCES Organizational volunteer.
B) Club event where other clubs within county are invited - notification of County Extension office if inviting others (individuals and/or clubs) within the county.
C) Club event where others are invited from outside the county - events cannot be marketed across county lines without written approval from the agent in county sponsoring the event to agents in other counties where invitation is being extended.
D) County Event - must have approval of faculty member responsible for the 4-H program (4-H agent/professional/CED) to be labeled XYZ event.
E) County event where other counties invited - 4-H professional in host county must communicate the invitation.
F) Multi-County Events - A 4-H agent and/or professionals from all counties involved must be included in the planning and communication.
G) Regional - Events open to all in the region. Planned by a committee representing all counties in the region with documented and/or written correspondence to the Regional Director. Does not preclude anyone from another region from attending.
H) State - any event listed and/or advertised as a state 4-H event or activity must have written approval of State 4-H Coordinator or designee.
I) Across state lines - notification to other state by 4-H Coordinator.
