What Can I Do in 4-H?

4-H has something for everyone.
There are activities for just about any interest.

Another Maryland natural resource, aquatic life, allows 4-H to teach many valuable skills while building self-confidence and self-reliance. For many youth, 4-H Aquatic Science and Natural Resources activities are their first exposure to fishing and the outdoors. Catching your first fish while learning the value of Maryland's waterways makes the educational process fun and exciting.
As part of the University of Maryland, 4-H is able to utilize the expertise of faculty in areas of interest to members. Dr. Tom Hartsock, a professor at the University of Maryland College of Agriculture, teaches thousands of 4-H members the importance of proper livestock care and management. 4-H'ers learn proper care and proper ethics in raising animals as pets and projects.

Maryland 4-H Youth Development programs and activities are open to all youth between the ages of 5 and 18 without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, or national origin.
