Meet the Staff



Dr. Leon Slaughter

Leon Slaughter, Associate Dean for Academic Programs. Dr. Slaughter works with both graduate and undergraduate students. Undergraduates interested in the college Honors program or the Certificate in International Agriculture and Natural Resources should contact him at 301.405.2078 or E-mail Leon

W. Ray Stricklin, Interim Assistant Dean for Academic Programs. Dr. Stricklin works directly with undergraduate students in matters of academic policy. Visit Dr. Stricklin in Room 0107 Symons Hall

Ms. Elizabeth Weiss

Elizabeth Weiss, Assistant to the Dean for Academic Programs. Beth coordinates recruitment and admissions for undergraduate majors and serves as liaison with parents and students. She works closely with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and participates in many campus academic committees such as Honors and Bannaker Key Review. Beth also has served as AGNR Student Ambassador Advisor since 1986, an all volunteer group that assists the college with recruitment events. Ms. Sheila Brown

Sheila Brown, Coordinator for Academic Programs. Administers the AGNR Scholarship Program serving as a liaison between students and donors. She coordinates the day-to-day management of the Associate Dean for Academic Programs office. Assists with AGNR recruitment, career, and alumni programs. Provides support for college PCC Committee. Donna Walther, Administrative Assistant

First line of contact for students is Donna Walther, Administrative Assistant in Academic Programs Undergraduate Office. Coordination of New Student Orientations and Graduation Ceremonies, maintaining student records, graduation audits, and knowledge of university and college policies are among Donna's specialties. Ms. Emilie Clingerman

Emilie Clingerman, Staff Administrative Assistant, supports Academic Programs. She provides assistance with the AGNR scholarship program, processes financial forms for the department, maintains the Academic Programs website, and evaluates CORE audits for all rising juniors in the college. Ms. Tu-Anh Pham

Tu-Anh Pham is a Junior Nutritional Science major. She is now working as a student assistant in the undergraduate programs office. For administrative issues, contact Tu-Anh by email at tpham@umd.edu.
