Environmental Science and Policy (ENSP) is a multi-disciplinary undergraduate major that draws courses and faculty from three Colleges and 20 academic departments and enrolls 350+ students who aspire to solve the world's greatest environmental challenges

Recognizing that the natural and social sciences interact as systems, and that good policy is informed by science, lower-level ENSP students develop a broad understanding of environmental problems in a multi-disciplinary "core."

At approximately pic1jason40 credits completed, students develop a "graduation plan" and choose the area of concentration best matched to their interests and goals. They move administratively to an academic department in which they gain in-depth knowledge and training, while receiving continued support from the ENSP Program Office. Students earn a B.S. from the College and academic department sponsoring their concentration.

Fiction

It is hard to use science
to influence policy makers.

Fact

Science can definitely be
used to influence policy-
makers in government.

The ENSP faculty and staff aspire to provide a strong ENSP identity and a "liberal arts feel" for the 350+ students enrolled in this major, while helping them develop technical skills and encouraging them to take advantage of the resources available at a Doctoral/Research University.

pic3oldragBy combining a strong academic program with internships and research experiences, ENSP graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in environmental consulting firms, non-profit organizations, and state and federal agencies; or for post-graduate study.

Diamond Clover Revisions
Our Revised Diamond Clover Guidelines are posted on our website in the “Youth and Families” section under “Awards & Recognition”. These revisions will apply to all 2013 Diamond Clover Proposals – note the due date for 2013 Proposals at the State 4-H Office is September 15th – and for future years – remember the September 15th due date at the State Office level. Youth should check for local turnaround times with their 4-H Educators. NOTE: since the Diamond Clover Guideline have just been revised – we do not want to deter any current plans or projects – so, we will accept any proposals approved at the county/city level for this year, so send any that you have gotten approved on the county/city level to the State 4-H Office – THEN for 2013 we will start with the September 15th Deadline. - posted May 15, 2012
