Qualifications: Drivers License US Citizen Required Skills: US citizenship; valid driver’s license; ability and willingness to undergo a required criminal history background check; ability to work with minimal supervision in areas with poisonous plants and animals, allergens, temperature extremes and inclement weather. Desired Skills: Ability to drive 4WD and manual transmission vehicles; minimum of 2 years college in area of biological sciences, environmental sciences or environmental law; experience in habitat survey; experience with GIS and/or GPS.
Description: NAS Patuxent River Located in St. Mary's County, Maryland, at the confluence of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay, Naval Air Station Patuxent River comprises approximately 9,000 total acres. Land use/cover here is a mixture of urban development, forests, agricultural lands and tidal water bodies. The primary mission at the Installation involves research, development, testing and evaluation of Naval aircraft and aircraft systems. Assist National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program manager in coordinating environmental review of installation facilities projects, 50%; update existing geographic information system (GIS) environmental data layers, 50%.
