Do you want to know how farmers build healthy soils, why crop rotations add biological diversity and where farmers find new markets?

Are you interested in learning the science behind sustainable agriculture?

If so, apply to be an intern at USDA's Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. (www.sare.org).

SARE's national branch office seeks an intern who will: * Help produce books and bulletins for Extension educators, farmers and others * Analyze research projects and post grants in a national database * Develop resource lists for new books, bulletins and other publications * Respond to requests for information * Assist staff with various sustainable agriculture projects * Provide informational materials for the public * Develop an individual sustainable agriculture project (as time allows)

Details. Available for U MD students only Flexible hours (2 or more days/week, extra hours during summer/winter break) We'll work with you to gain college credit Good computer skills required Convenient to campus (near IKEA)

Salary: $8.50 per hour
