Wye Research and Education Center

Located on nearly 1,000 acres on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the Wye Research and Education Center houses both research and outreach faculty. It is an important center for environmental field research, including a variety of efforts protecting the quality of our ground water and the Chesapeake Bay. Home to the Wye Angus beef herd, the Wye Research and Education Center also hosts research examining the effects of pollutants on striped bass and other Bay inhabitants; breeding and genetic studies for traditional and alternative crops; and a variety of IPM projects that provide effective, environmentally safe pest control solutions.
